Kate M. Albert is an associate at the law firm of Chermol & Fishman handling Social Security matters, primarily at the Federal appellate level. Since joining the firm in March 2021, Ms. Albert has assisted in the filing of hundreds of appeals, giving those clients a second chance at obtaining life-sustaining disability benefits.
Prior to joining Chermol & Fishman, Ms. Albert was the sole proprietor of a law firm handling disability cases from application throughout the administrative process. She also served as a brief writer for other practitioners and worked as a staff attorney overseeing cases and attorneys for a large, national disability firm.
Ms. Albert received a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and is a cum laude graduate of Widener University’s Delaware School of Law. While in law school, she served as a law clerk for Philadelphia’s Homeless Advocacy Project and assisted the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in Wilmington, Delaware. She was the recipient of an Equal Justice Works Fellowship and the Dupont Public Interest Fellowship, graduating with a pro bono distinction. She obtained her LL.M. from Drexel University’s Kline School of Law in December of 2020.
